I Am Matt Evans, and I Am Mr. Paint

Fair Price, Clean Work, No Surprises

The number I quote is the number you pay. I buy paint on a trade account and pass the saving straight through, so your money goes into skilled hands and good materials instead of an office and a sales rep.

Cut lines go on by hand. Prep happens before the first coat, not after you notice. Floors get covered, fixtures get masked, tape comes off the same day, and the room is usable again before I leave for the evening.

If something is not right, say so while I am still there. I fix it on the spot.

Where I Work

I work across Little Rock and the surrounding Central Arkansas communities, including North Little Rock, West Little Rock, Maumelle, Sherwood, Jacksonville, Cabot, Conway, Benton, Bryant, Alexander, Mabelvale, Malvern, Searcy, Greenbrier, Mayflower and Cammack Village.

A 1920s home in the Quapaw Quarter has plaster, layered paint and trim profiles that punish a fast crew. A 2015 build off Chenal has drywall, a vaulted ceiling and builder flat that never took a second coat. I have painted both this year. They do not get painted the same way. Call (501) 551‑4002 and tell me about yours.

Why People Hire Matt

You get Matt, every day

The person who quoted your job is the person doing it. No sales rep, no handoff, no crew who never heard the conversation.

The price holds

The number I give you is the number for the scope we agreed. If something behind the wall changes it, you hear about it before I do the work, not on the invoice.

Prep before paint, always

Washing, scraping, patching, caulking, sanding and masking. That is where a paint job is won. Paint is the easy part and it goes on last.

Trade pricing passed on

Customers keep mentioning the discount they got on materials. You get the benefit of the trade account instead of paying retail plus a markup.

Cleaned up before I leave

Floors covered, fixtures masked, tape pulled the same day, and the room handed back usable. People mention it in reviews without being asked.

One call for the small stuff

A drywall crack, a sticking door, a rotten piece of trim, a fixture that needs taking down. I handle it while I am already there.

Questions I Get Asked

How much does it cost to paint a room in Little Rock?

For a standard bedroom with walls only, most jobs land in the $300 to $600 range. Adding the ceiling, the trim and the doors roughly doubles it, because that is roughly double the work. Vaulted ceilings, heavy patching, dark-to-light color changes and wallpaper removal all push it up. You get a firm number after I have seen the room.

Do I need to move my own furniture?

Move the small and the breakable. I will move and cover the heavy pieces and center them in the room. Say so up front if a room is full, because it changes how long the job takes.

How long does interior painting take?

A single room is usually one day. A typical three bedroom interior with ceilings and trim runs three to five working days. Cabinets take longer than people expect because each coat has to cure properly before the next one goes on.

What paint do you use?

It depends on the surface and the room. Kitchens, bathrooms and trim need a harder, more scrubbable finish than a bedroom ceiling does. I will tell you what I am putting on the wall and why, and I buy it on a trade account, which is where the savings my customers mention come from.

Can you fix the drywall before you paint?

Yes. Nail pops, settlement cracks, old anchor holes, water stains and corner bead damage get patched, sanded and primed as part of the prep. Painting over a bad patch just makes the patch shiny.

Do you paint exteriors year round?

Mostly. Exterior work depends on temperature and moisture more than the calendar. Arkansas summer humidity and a cold snap both affect how coatings cure, so I schedule around the weather rather than fighting it.

What areas do you cover?

Little Rock and the surrounding Central Arkansas communities, including North Little Rock, Maumelle, Sherwood, Benton, Bryant, Conway, Cabot, and the smaller towns in between.

Do you give free estimates?

Yes. Call (501) 551‑4002 or send the details through the estimate form and I will arrange a look at the job.
